SUMMARY:Netarts Bay Beach and Riverside Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Join SOLVE\, Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS (www.netartsbaywebs.org)\, and Tillamook County at the Netarts Bay Boat Ramp (2065 Netarts Boat Basin Road\, Netarts\, OR) from 10 AM – 1 PM for a shoreline cleanup! \nFriends of Netarts Bay WEBS members and our partners have been working with SOLVE to host cleanups in the area from Cape Lookout to Cape Meares to Bay Ocean for over a decade. Join us this year and help us protect marine life and maintain the beauty of our coast. \nDon’t forget about the small stuff! The most commonly found items of trash found on Oregon beaches are tiny bits of plastic and cigarette butts\, which can be harmful to shorebirds and marine life. Bring an old colander to sift the sand for these items. \nThis beach cleanup is family-friendly\, and volunteers of all ages will find the event fun and rewarding. \nRemember our ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water. Keep your distance from marine mammals\, and never turn your back on the ocean! If you find any hazardous material\, please alert your Beach Captain. And remember\, it’s more fun to work as part of a team. Bring a buddy\, stay safe\, and have fun! \nAdvanced Registration: Is highly suggested but not required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot. \nMeeting Location: Volunteers will be meeting at the Netarts Boat Basin. Look for the SOLVE signs and Friends of Netarts Bay flag! \nAddress: 2065 Netarts Basin Boat Rd\, Tillamook\, OR 97141 \nWhat to Bring: You are encouraged to bring your own reusable bucket/bag\, gloves\, and water bottle to help reduce plastic waste. If you happen to forget\, SOLVE will provide bags and gloves. If you bring personal belongings please bring a backpack so you can pick up trash hands-free. Dress for the weather\, wear closed-toed shoes\, and long pants. Be prepared for the variable Oregon coast weather. Also bring your cell phone\, and a filled reusable water bottle. \nWhat’s Provided: Recycled trash bags and gloves are available to all volunteers at check-in. A small supply of trash grabbers can be loaned. If you have your own\, please bring them. \nRestrooms: Public restrooms are available at the check-in locations \nParking: Parking at check-in is limited however people usually move in and out quickly. A day pass will be provided to any volunteer cleaning sections of the beach requiring parking in a fee lot. \nTransit: There is a nearby bus stop to the check-in location.
